Terms and Condition to participate in the John Hughes Big Walk 

In consideration of my participation in the John Hughes Big Walk, I hereby for myself, my heirs, and personal representative assume any and all risk which may be associated with the event.

I further waive, release, discharge and covenant not to sue the Rotary Club of Mosman Park – Cottesloe and the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation, their officers, members, sponsors, organisers or other representatives or successors and assigns, for the injuries or damages of any kind whatsoever as a result of taking part in the event and related activities.

I give permission for the free use of my name, voice, or picture in any broadcast, telecast, advertising, promotion, or other account of this event, including advertising and promotions for future Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation events.

In the instance that a participant under the age of 18 years of age wins the John Hughes car, it will be automatically assumed that the parent/guardian that registered them takes possession of the prize. One entry per registered walker, family ticket entrants receive one entry per family ticket.  Employees of PMH Foundation are not eligible to win the car. All paying participants automatically go in the draw to win a new John Hughes Mitsubishi Mirage (white) valued at $13,990 drive away – price includes dealer deliver, registration and stamp duty.

The prize for a weekend in Margaret River is for two nights in a two bedroom villa with breakfast at the White Elephant Beach Cafe and dinner (food only) at The Common. The prize can not be used on long weekends or during peak periods.

The highest individual fundraiser is awarded to the fundraiser who is not collecting money on behalf of a team. The final decision will be made by a representative of the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation.

fb-make-publicParticipants must upload a short, fun, creative video that encourages others to register for the John Hughes Big Walk to either

a) the participant’s Facebook account (on PUBLIC privacy setting)

b) The John Hughes Big Walk Facebook page wall (https://www.facebook.com/JohnHughesBigWalk/ )

c) or the participant’s public Instagram account

AND Tag @JohnHughesBigWalk on Facebook or @BigWalkPerth on Instagram and use the hashtag #bigwalkperth to go into a draw to win a merchandise pack and Event Cinemas movie voucher – valued at over $200

For a video to qualify, it must:

  • Encourage others to join them and register for the John Hughes Big Walk
  • Use the hashtag #bigwalkperth, and tag the @JohnHughesBigWalk Page on Facebook, or @bigwalkperth on Instagram
  • Uploaded to Instagram or Facebook by midnight 6 November 2016
  • Winner will be drawn at random 7 November 2016 and notified via their Instagram or Facebook account and asked to contact the Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation to claim their prize.
  • Upon claiming their prize, the winner must provide adequate proof they are the owner of the Instagram account (ie. demonstrate logging into the account).
  • All submitted entries may be shared or reposted by John Hughes Big Walk and Perth Children’s Hospital Foundation Facebook and Instagram profiles.
  • Winner’s name and winning video may be published on the John Hughes Big Walk website and social media platforms.
  • The video may be of any length.


The prize pack contains:

  • 2 x citrus zinger water bottles
  • 2 x PCHF pens
  • 2 x BW t-shirts
  • 2 x PCHF coffee cups
  • 1 Stitches Bear
  • 1 Stitches Calendar
  • 1 PCHF tote bag
  • $100 Event Cinema voucher
